Who is Kendra?

Kendra Johnson is originally born and raised in Birmingham, AL. She is a graduate from the University of Montevallo with a BFA in Musical Theatre. She began performing at the age of four with Dale Serrano Dance Company and from there she gained a love for ballet and tap. Later in middle school she picked up gymnastics, cheer and track. She was introduced to the performance arts in High school when she joined the drama club. Joining the drama department sparked her decision to further her theater interests in college. After college she applied and was accepted to be an apprentice at the Serenbe Playhouse in Palmetto Georgia. There she performed in various shows such as Robin Hood, Cabaret, The Little Mermaid, and The Snow Queen.

Following her apprenticeship she acquired her first few performance contracts in the Atlanta area such as Aida with The Atlanta Lyric Theatre and the Christmas In The City show at the Stone Mountain National Park. She always knew she wanted to be able to do what she loved and have the ability to travel, so her aspirations led her to audition for a tour. In 2019 she booked the PAW Patrol Live! A Great Pirate Adventure Tour with Vstar Entertainment. While on this tour she performed in various theatres and arenas all over the west coast including the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Performing for children of all ages, from different states in the US, was such a humbling and incredible experience that she knew she wanted to continue traveling and performing even more.

Soon after the contract with Vstar Kendra took to the seas and booked a cruise contract as a vocalist with Norwegian Creative Studios boarding the Oceania Regatta in 2019 and then in 2021 relaunched the Oceania Marina. She is currently back in Atlanta working as a Film/TV/Commercial actor represented by The Avenue Agency. Since being back she has booked three commercials and performed in many regional theatre performances such as the world premiere of Pretty Pants Bandit at The Georgia Ensemble Theatre, The Radio in Caroline Or Change, and Nyasha in The first musical iteration of Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters.
